Pamela Anderson's Strip Show In Paris

In her much-anticipated strip show at the famed Le Crazy Horse saloon in Paris, Pamela Anderson sported a sheer black body stocking and made her stage bow on the back of a motorcycle in front of 500 enthusiastic fans, revealing much more of her considerable talents than expected.

"She was great," gushed one observer who caught an eyeful at the first of her one-night only performances. (Pamela did two shows, and both were sold out.) "She was totally into it – it was impressive. And the crowd responded very warmly."

In an homage to '50s French sex kitten (and sister animal-rights activist) Brigitte Bardot, Pamela delivered a languorous dance number to Bardot's emblematic hit "Harley Davidson." (Bardot, now 73, sent Pamela flowers and called to wish her well.)

Earlier in the day, at a PETA press conference, Pamela told PEOPLE she was "a little bruised up from practicing on that motorcycle" but looked forward to the gig. "It'll be fun," she said.

Though the Crazy Horse specializes in presenting topless dancers, "It's a celebration of women," says Pamela. "It's done very respectfully, very classy, and it's a wonderful show for women as well as for men."

It's also wonderful for the Crazy Horse, because Pamela says she did the show for free. (Tickets just to get in were around $300 per person.) "This isn't for money," said Pamela. "It's just for the love of the art, and the Crazy Horse does it best." Still, she noted, "They have to cover their costs. They flew me over here. And I am very high maintenance."
