Britney and Kevin Reach Divorce Settlement

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline reached a divorce settlement on Thursday. The settlement was worked out at the office of Britney's attorney, Laura Wasser. Britney along with Kevin and his attorney's Mark Vincent Kaplan and Jim Simon spent five hours working out the deal. A spokesman for Kevin's attorney said, "The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children." Some sources are saying the couple agreed to 50/50 custody agreement. The former couple spoke spoke without the lawyers during a smoke break for 15 minutes.

The terms of the divorce were not given out and a judge still has to sign off on the agreement. The settlement comes less than 10 days after Britney left Promises Treatment Center. The couple married in September of 2004 in a private ceremony at a friend's California home. (The marriage became legal in October of 2004.) They had two sons, Sean Preston on September 14, 2005 and Jayden James on September 12, 2006. Britney filed for divorce on November 7, 2006 after a tough few months. Britney spent little time with her husband as he promoted his failed hip-hop album, Playing With Fire that was released on October 31, 2006.

The couple had a temporary agreement that Britney had primary custody of the boys and Kevin had three days a week visitation. That all ended when Britney's partying ways got out of control ending in a weekend of shocking actions. The pop star shaved her head and got tattoos followed by two failed attempts at rehab and a scary night of dangerous behavior outside Kevin's Tarzana, California home. Britney than entered rehab while Kevin became the major care giver for the boys. Kevin will retain custody until he is satisfied her rehab worked.
